where my soul is free

Taken after a strong hailstorm blasting through the hills. The last rays of the setting sun gently caress the land while the humidity and the remnants of rain clouds form intriguing veils of mist.

Watching scenes like this remind me to slow down, listen to mother nature's heartbeat and free my mind of the burning stress and compulsion that every day office (and society) life forces upon me.

And whenever I go and watch the sunset from some random hilltop, I am always alone. Nobody takes the time to admire the beauty of nature anymore. People drive from point A (the office) through these hills to point B (their homes) and vanish into their house. And in the morning they go from B to A. It's almost as if most of us live in a great hallucination.

All the useless things we are made to pursue - wealth, success, power...

I do not covet them any longer.... I sit, take a rest and admire.

And then I see
Where my soul is free.
